Keyword Importance and Placement
Today lets talk about importance of the placement of keywords in your blog or website.
Keyword placement in Title Tag
This is one of the most important point while you optimize your website as what is written in title tag shows in search results as title of your page.Title should not be too long,it can be upto 5-6 words.Try to place keyword in the beginning but keep in mind the word or sentence should be meaningful and relevant.
Keyword in URL
Try to place keyword in URL as it will help a lot for Optimization,For example http://seo-services-indore.blogspot.in/ ,in this url Seo-Services is a targeted keyword for this particular page.Placing keyword in URL really helps to boost Keyword Ranking for that particular page.
Keyword Density in Document Text
Keyword Density is another very Important factor as you should notice or need to check that in overall text your major keywords should be in between 3-7% of total text and Secondry keywords should be in between 2-3%.Keyword density of over 10% is suspicious and looks more like keyword stuffing,which comes under black-hat practice which will finally reduce or impact your page rank to certain extend and sometime may lead to penalize if overstuffing is done.
Keywords in Anchor text
Also very important, especially for the anchor text of inbound links, because if you have the keyword in the anchor text in a link from another site, this is regarded as getting a vote from this site not only about your site in general, but about the keyword in particular.
Keywords in Heading Tag
It is another Important place where you should place Keywords but be aware that heading and related content should have relevancy with each other.It should be meaningful as well as relevant with each other.
Keywords in Alt tags
Spiders do not read images,but they read text discription of it.So try to include keyword related to image in Alt tag which is another very important point for optimization.
Keywords in Meta tags
Less and less important, especially for Google. Yahoo! and Bing still rely on them, so if you are optimizing for Yahoo! or Bing, fill these tags properly. In any case, filling these tags properly will not hurt, so do it.
Keyword Proximity
Keyword proximity measures how close in the text the keywords are,it applies if you have keyword in phrase i.e. keyword consist of 2 or more words,If say keyword is SEO Services and in text you find SEO in one paragraph and Services in another paragraph then its impact would be lesser as compare to if you find that SEO-Services coming together in one place with no words in between but anyways it should be relavant and meaningful.As placing keyword together is good but not at the cost of Meaning.Means priority should be given to relavancy first.
